Bankruptcy filings in Arizona were down 23 percent year-over-year, according to federal court data.
The fiscal year that ended June 30 saw a drop of 15 percent in the number of people and businesses seeking federal bankruptcy protections in Pima County.
The only counties that had filings increase were Graham, Greenlee and La Paz, the three least-populated counties.
Business and non-business filings individually were down by similar number to their combined total, both statewide and in Pima County.
Chapter 7, or liquidation bankruptcies, were down by 25 percent statewide, and around 17 percent in Pima County.
